The legislature was built to protect Nigerians. When it fails, democracy fails with it.
Nigeria's democracy is failing — not because of fate, but because the institution designed to protect the people has collapsed. The National Assembly, meant to check the executive and defend the Constitution, has become weakened by godfatherism, cronyism, corruption, and a lack of capacity.
