Fellow Nigerians, we have reached a defining moment. Our democracy is gasping for breath. Our institutions are captured. Our electoral system is manipulated. Our National Assembly — the very foundation of constitutional order — has been compromised.
But the greatest tragedy is not what politicians have done. It is what we, the people, have been conditioned to believe:
“If I contribute money, they will steal it.”
“Movements always start well, then become like the rest.”
“Why should I fund people who may betray us?”
These fears are valid. Nigerians have been wounded too many times. But if we allow distrust to paralyze us, the enemies of democracy will win without a fight.
Today, I speak to you not just as a convener, but as an appeal from a public fund mobilizer and manager who understands the weight of your sacrifice and the sacredness of your trust.
Why We Must Fund This Movement Ourselves
Nigeria's political decay began the day money became the gatekeeper of leadership. Good people were pushed out. Honest people were priced out. Integrity became a luxury.
If we want a National Assembly that represents us, then we must reclaim the process of producing its members.
Not with billions. Not with godfathers. Not with stolen public funds. But with ₦100, ₦500, ₦1,000, ₦5,000 — the power of ordinary Nigerians.
When millions give small amounts, we build a firewall against corruption.
But Let Us Be Honest — Nigerians No Longer Trust Anyone With Their Money
And they are right.
For decades, public fund managers, NGOs, political movements, and even religious bodies have abused the goodwill of citizens. Funds disappear. Reports are never published. Leaders become unrecognizable once money enters the room.
This is why NARM is taking a radical departure from the Nigerian norm.
We are not asking for blind trust. We are asking for verifiable trust.
Our Fund Management Model: Transparent, Auditable, and People-Controlled
1. Every Kobo Will Be Public
All contributions — from ₦100 to ₦10 million — will be displayed on a public, real-time dashboard accessible to every Nigerian. No hidden donors. No secret transfers. No political merchants.
2. Independent Citizens' Oversight Board
A board made up of respected Nigerians with no political ambitions will supervise all expenditures. Their reports will be published monthly.
3. Zero Cash Handling
All transactions will be digital. No envelopes. No "movement treasurers" carrying bags of money. No room for manipulation.
4. Strict Spending Rules
Funds will be used only for movement operations that serve the people — never for elites, influencers, or private pockets.
Funds will be used only for
- •grassroots mobilizers
- •polling-unit agents
- •voter-education materials
- •digital infrastructure for monitoring
- •training and deployment of youth volunteers
- •logistics for credible candidates vetted by the people
Not for
- •political elites
- •influencers
- •party godfathers
- •hotel jamborees
- •private pockets
